Incident report

Whilst returning from the previous call out at Taxal, the mountain rescue team was requested to attend a joint callout with colleagues from Edale Mountain Rescue Team. The teams were called to attend a 30 year old male who had slipped on the footpath near the summit of Mam Tor, sustaining a lower leg injury.

The casualty was initially treated by mountain rescue team members, which included splinting the injury, before being placed in a casualty bag, vacuum mattress and being placed on a mountain rescue stretcher and sledged down to the road at Mam Nick. The casualty was then transferred to a road ambulance for onward transport to hospital.

Team members then returned to their “day jobs” after what had already been a busy winter’s morning for the volunteers.
