Incident report

As team members were preparing for Thursday evening’s crag training session a joint snatch call with Edale Mountain Rescue Team was received from a school party on Grindslow Knoll.
A young female member of the walking group had sustained a suspected fracture to her right ankle after a fall.

Since the exact location was initially unknown, the team leader used Sarloc to ascertain the exact location. Team members were quickly deployed to the casualty site and after a very hot ascent team members reached the casualty, where the team’s paramedic carried out the primary survey.

As team members arrived on site, the stretcher was erected then the casualty was loaded and given pain relief. To avoid a steep descent the stretcher party traversed Grindslow Low picking up the main path on the southeastern side and after a sixty-minute carry, they arrived in Edale village where the young lady was handed over to East Midlands Ambulance Service.
