Incident report

A joint Edale and Buxton Mountain Rescue Team snatch squad was called out to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service with a 62 year old female casualty on a steep path above Treak Cliff Cavern.

The lady, on holiday from Caerphilly, had been walking when a simple slip resulted in a suspected fracture of the right lower leg. The lady was treated on scene and given pain relief before being stretchered down the hill to a waiting ambulance for onward transport to a Stockport hospital.

I am the lady from Caerphilly referred to above. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone concerned for their help and assistance. It was greatly appreciated. I sustained a double fracture which required pinning and a plate being inserted into my ankle. It shows how easily things can happen even when wearing the proper shoes, etc.

Thanks again to everyone concerned and best wishes for the future. I hope you are not too busy with call outs.
