An early afternoon call-out in overcast conditions to the steep grassy slopes near Chrome Hill in Upper Dovedale.
The casualty, a 61 year old woman from the Nottingham area, had slipped in the wet ground conditions, injuring her ankle. She was treated on site by EMAS paramedics, then loaded onto a stretcher and carried by team members for c. 300 metres downhill to a farmer’s Land Rover. Sitting upright in the back, she was driven to a waiting ambulance, transferred, and taken to Macclesfield General Hospital for futher care and attention.
A team spokesperson said “the conditions at the time were low cloud and mist, leading to wet, slippery surfaces. Whilst descending towards the casualty with equipment, one of our team members lost their footing and sustained a scalp injury. This did not require a hospital visit”.
