Incident report

Buxton and Edale teams with 3 search dogs called to search the Southern Edges when a 19 year old female from Nottingham became separated from the other 15 in her party.  The group from Nottingham University were on the Kinder Plateau to practice navigation.  A search of all the escape routes across both sides of the plateau was initiated and the missing female was located by a Buxton section on Broadlee Bank, cold and a little frightened by her experience.  The remaining 15 had actually split into 2 groups, 10 who were walking off down Grindsbrook and 5 who had remained on the top to continue searching for their colleague unaware she had passed them. When all the members of the party had been accounted for, the party descending Grindsbrook were met and the party at the top of Grindsbrook accompanied off down the easier sledge track descent. The party were then reunited at the Nags Head, safe and well for a later than planned for supper.
