Incident report

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called following the report of a 7 year old having become separated from his family on a walk along the ridge line.  Despite frantic efforts by the family the boy could not be found and so a call to the police was made.

Buxton team responded sending team members along the ridge from Mam Tor towards Hollins Cross and some in the opposite direction towards Lord’s Seat.  Team vehicles also patrolled the roads.

About 45 minutes later and just as the search was about to stepped up to include other teams and air-support, the boy arrived safely at The Moorlands Centre in Edale having been found by a member of the public.
