Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue teams acted as a snatch squad to assist a 70 year old female on the route off Mam Tor towards Mam Nick.

The lady, from Marple, was with a family group and was descending from the summit of Mam Tor when she slipped and twisted a knee. Team first aiders treated the lady who was then carried by stretcher to the car park to wait for an ambulance which would transport her to a Stockport hospital for further assessment.

Many, many thanks to all those involved today, especailly to Kerry who kindly drove us back to Stockport. Mum (who is 70 by the way-think the Entonox confused her!) is currently waiting to be seen at SHH but was pain-free when I left her. She wants me to send her grateful appreciation to all those involved and apologises that her legs weren’t shaved!!
