Incident report

A call-out for Buxton Mountain Rescue Team following the report of a 64 year old lady having been injured whilst youelgreave-october-2016walking on the Limestone Way.

The team rendezvoused at Moor Lane car park and descended the slippery footpath for approximately half a kilometre to the accident site.  The lady had taken a simple slip on the limestone which had resulted in a suspected fractured ankle.  The casualty was treated by team members and an E.M.A.S. Paramedic before the injury was splinted and the lady loaded onto a stretcher.  There then followed a further short descent to the roadway and a brief wait for a land-ambulance to arrive for transport to a Chesterfield hospital.

    To all the team
I simply wanted to thank you for the wonderful support you gave me last Saturday. I am now back home in Scotland and it has been confirmed that I have a cracked fibula just above the ankle bone. I am glad you splinted it for me!
The good humour of all the team kept me going; not only were you superbly professional, but you also made me laugh.
    Thank you
    With best wishes
    Linda
