Incident report

An evening call-out for a 19 year old female from Beeston, Nottinghamshire. She was solo climbing in the corner arête area and came off, falling some 25 feet to the ground.

The casualty sustained shoulder and lower leg injuries, and was treated on site by the ambulance service paramedics. She was then placed onto a stretcher and evacuated by the team to the road side and transferred into the waiting ambulance which took her to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, for further treatment.

Neil Carruthers, Buxton Team Leader said “ We have been very busy recently with 6 calls for assistance over the last 5 days. This reflects the commitment and enthusiasm of our team members, their families and employers, for which we are very grateful”.
