Despite being on a top rope and wearing a helmet, a 46 year old man from Manchester suffered significant head injuries in a fall at Birchens Edge.
The Edale and Buxton Snatch Squad responded with 14 members to assist an East Midlands Ambulance crew with first aid before the casualty was carried to an Air-ambulance. The injuries were such that he was flown directly to a neurological centre in Nottingham for further assessment and treatment.
