Incident report

img_0827-smallSearch Dog Handler, Dave Mason with Megan called with five other search dogs to assist Woodhead, Glossop and Edale mountain rescue teams in a search for two males from Nottingham.   The two men (32 & 17 years) had started from the North side of Bleaklow in a hunt for aircraft wrecks but became lost with the onset of darkness.  The pair contacted the police about 8.00 pm to report their problem and the call-out commenced in very wet and windy conditions.  Members of Edale MRT eventually found the men on the Eastern side of Howden reservoir, cold and wet but uninjured.

The incident, which was controlled from Heatherdene car park near to Ladybower reservoir, was closed at 11.15 pm.
