John and Hilary Burrows, licensees of the Rock Inn at Upper Hulme near the Roaches, Leek, have long been supporters of Buxton Rescue Team and for the last five years have been encouraging customers to drop their loose change into a bar-top collection box.  Those few coins soon add up and the last time the box was emptied it brought the grand total collected to over the five years to a magnificent £2,200.   This is the first team collection box to reach this milestone and the special help of John and Hilary has been marked with a Certificate of Special Apprecation .

The Rock Inn is well known for its quality food and, being situated just a few hundred yards from some of the best gritstone rock climbing in the Peak District, the pub has always been popular with climbers and walkers.  Don’t just take our word for it, call in and while you are there take note of the little red box in the corner!
