Organised by Langley Methodist Church, The Langley Lectures are a series of talks aimed at providing an opportunity for people to come together and learn more about the locality and the world.  The lectures present a wide variety of subjects from politics to health and from faith to science and the natural world.

For the final talk of the winter series Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was invited to give a presentation on the work of mountain rescue in the Peak District providing an insight to the challenges and rewards of being a member.

Three team members went to the small village of Langley near Macclesfield to give the talk and demonstrate some of the rescue equipment.  Following the presentation the villagers showed their keen interest with a number of questions and making a healthy donation to the team coffers.

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team is always pleased to talk to interested local groups about how a modern team operates and the history which lies behind its development into the respected community service, totally dependent on charity and the willingness of its volunteer members.
