Team remembers Edith Oulton

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team members were sad hear of the passing of Edith Oulton who died peacefully at her home on 16th July, shortlyedith 2 before her 94th birthday.

Edith, a Buxton resident, was an avid supporter of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team.  She made regular donations over a great many years and enjoyed keeping up to date with team news.  She even bought lottery tickets on occasions in the hope she may win money for the team.  She was therefore delighted to hear that the team had achieved its funding target to pay for a new team vehicle.

In the summer of 2014 Edith visited the team’s base at Dove Holes as part of the Golden Anniversary  celebrations.  She took a tour of some of the specialist equipment that her donations had helped to buy and was fascinated by a film explaining the history of Mountain Rescue in the Peak District.

Edith was a wonderful lady with a bright spirit, kind heart and a generous nature.  She will be greatly missed.

The team send grateful thanks to her family and friends for their generous gifts donated at the time of her funeral.
