Santa apologises for not delivering

If you work in the Sheffield Valuation Office or St Edmundchristmas-gifts-largesbury Borough Council Office or the Pharmacy Department of Macclesfield Hospital, the team would like to apologise for the fact you didn’t get a Christmas card from your colleagues last year.

But we would like to say a really big thank-you to all the above and many more who between you have donated nearly £750 to the team in lieu of Christmas cards and presents.

Our ‘Christmas Gifts in Kind’ fund-raising campaign was launched on the team website in November 2008. It asked people to consider giving up their presents and donate to the charity instead; in this instance, mountain rescue. When the appeal closed just before Christmas the result was a little disappointing raising only about a third of its target figure.  But we should have known better!  Since the New Year money has continued to come in mainly from office workers donating cash instead of send internal Christmas cards.  Now with the total nearing £750 the team can really get going with the purchase of the extra casualty care equipment it needs.

Thank you everyone. Hope to hear from you next year!
