LONDON MARATHON

Team member, Darren Hunt, has just ten weeks to get fit following notice that he has been chosen to represent Mountain Rescue England &Daren Hunt feb 2015 Lon Mar Wales in the 2015 London Marathon on Sunday 26th April.

Darren has only been a team member since 2013 but he’s no stranger to long distance running having completed three previous marathons and fifteen half marathons.  That’s not to mention his longest event which covered 75 miles in 36 hours.   The psychology of the  event should be no trouble either as Darren is a qualified mountain leader and runs a company supporting people on their own personal challenges from local sponsored walks to the grand heights of Kilimanjaro.  The Spine, the 268 mile foot race along the Pennine Way, is another of his specialisms.  A great bloke to have in the rescue team but you might not choose to be in his operational section!

Darren is hoping to achieve his personal best time (although he won’t tell me what that is!) but more importantly, he wants to raise lots of moneyDaren Hunt feb 2015 for mountain rescue’s national body, M.R.E.W.

Would you like to encourage Darren and support mountain rescue?   Just go to his Justgiving web site

We’re bound to find out how he goes on as Darren is proud to be a “selfie” addict and his pictures will be all over social media very soon.

Photos:  Let the “selfies” start here!  More are sure to follow.
