Even More Bikes!

This time it’s team member Dave Goodman who somehow managed to get himself into a Lycra suit for a 150 miles jaunt, Coast to Dave Goodman 2Coast.

Dave is a paramedic with North West Ambulance Service and is one of the team’s lead first aid instructors.  This time he swapped his first aid kit for a large jar of Vaseline as he set off on his longest ever one day ride from Seascale on the west coast to Whitby on the east.   It was a family affair as he was accompanied by brother Andy and nephew Billy, together with friend, Sarah Perkin.  Even Mum & Dad were involved providing support and refreshment every thirty miles or so.

The route is a grueling 150 miles through and over the Lake District fells, on to the Yorkshire Dales and then the rugged North Yorkshire Moors.  It also took in the infamous “Hardknott Pass” climb.    Dave, who enjoys cycling as a hobby had never taken on such a challenge but thought, “it would give my cycling a focus.”  !!

It also raised some very welcome cash for the £50,000 Vehicle Appeal as Dave drummed up £450 in sponsorship.  Thanks to Dave and his family and all those who supported his great effort.
