Dove Holes shows its community spirit
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team has had a base in Dove Holes for almost 24 years. It’s a village about 3 miles out of town that straddes the busy A6. It’s probably fair to say it’s an outside contender for best looking village in England.
Under the grim exterior though, it’s got a lot of heart and spirit. Some of which was recently extended to the team when – once again – it presented BMRT with a much appreciated donation. The funds had been raised earlier in the year, at the splendid Dove Holes Carnival, which was held over July/Aug.
Last weekend, a few team members participated in the quiz night which was part of the presentation event, in aid of Dove Holes Carnival Committee, held at the Queen’s pub.
Despite finding themselves top scorers in the quiz, the BMRT graciously returned the quiz prize back to the Carnival Committee – as a wise investment in the future!
Many thanks for the consideration, Dove Holes, and here’s to many bright and lively carnivals to come.
