Distinguished Service

At the biannual meeting of Mountain Rescue England & Wales on Saturday 21st November Buxton Team Chairman, Ian Hurst, was presented with a Distinguished Service Certificate.Ian presentation 4 small

Ian Hurst has been involved with mountain rescue for over 46 years and played a significant part in forming the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation in 1964. 

The nomination for the award was approved earlier in the year and it was the President of Mountain Rescue England & Wales, Peter Bell, who made the formal presentation of the framed certificate in front of a packed meeting.  For the full report see 05.03.2009.
