Country Fair – record fundraiser

BMRT says a big thank-you to all those who worked at, contributed to, donated or in any way helped make the 2008 Chatsworth Country Fair a record fundraising success.

The three day fair held in late September each year in the grounds of Derbyshire’s magnificent Chatsworth House attracts tens of thousands of visitors.  The rescue team has for many years been fortunate enough to have permission to raise money at the show in return for selling official programmes at the gate.  This year, despite the damp weather and two call-outs, the team raised a record amount which will help the volunteers maintain the ethos that rescue should remain free at the point of need.

As the Team Fundraising Officer said, “This has always been our biggest fundraiser and we have become somewhat dependent on it.  We aim to raise about 20% of annual income from this single event so success is very important.  This year was fantastic; thank-you to everyone who helped.”
