This week Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was pleased to announce the winnerBike Factory 001_small of its 2015 Christmas Raffle and present the first prize to, Steve Rathbone of Rainow.

The prize was a £200 voucher kindly donated by The Bike Factory of Whaley Bridge.  The presentation was made at the shop in Whaley Bridge where the voucher was formally handed over.

Ironically, Steve was rescued by mountain rescue in 2012 when he crashed whilst mountain biking in the local area. He said that buying the raffle ticket was a “great opportunity to support mountain rescue”.

Fred Salmon of The Bike Factory said that “Mountain Rescue do a lot to help mountain bikers and it was a pleasure to be able to help them continue their dedication.”

The generosity of The Bike Factory and other prize donors helped the rescue team raise £720 towards maintaining its vehicles and equipment. Buxton Mountain Rescue Team would like to thank all those who bought tickets and especially thank The Bike Factory for their continued support by kindly donating the first prize.
