Incident report

The team was called to a lady who suffered a leg injury while walking with friends in Monsal Dale.

When the team arrived, the casualty was being treated by paramedics. The casualty initially wanted to walk out of the Dale with help and support, but was advised to accept the assistance of the team who had prepared for a stretcher evacuation.

She was placed onto a mountain rescue stretcher and wrapped in a casualty bag to keep warm. She was carried to the road head and the waiting East Midlands Ambulance Service ambulance for transport to hospital.

I just want to say a HUGE thank you to you all and to the ambulance team for helping me out of the valley. I still can’t believe there were so many people called out to help me but I’m very appreciative to you all. My knee is slowly healing and I’m almost off my crutches. Wishing you all a happy and safe holiday season and new year.
