Incident report

The team was called out to a 20 year old female who was bouldering with friends when she fell approximately 10 metres. She was complaining of shoulder pain, and the EMAS paramedics were on scene providing care and treatment as the rescue team arrived.

Following treatement and imobilisation of the injury, on site, the casualty was placed onto a scoop stretcher, and then onto a mountain rescue stretcher. The casualty was then carried up a steep bank, by team members using a safety back-up rope to the waiting Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance who had managed to “park” nearby in the old quarry.

The lady was then flown to Stoke Hospital for further treatment.
