Incident report

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called at 19.55 to an incident at Three Shires Head, which as the name suggests, is the border of Cheshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

A 19 year old girl from Congleton had been one of a group of youngsters enjoying the sunshire when she fell and sustained leg and back injuries.  The remoteness of the position caused some delay in the first ambulance crew reaching the casualty.  The delay was compounded by a request for an air-ambulance which was finally deemed to be unavailable.  At that time mountain rescue was called and the team responded with twenty members approaching from the south at Cut-thorn.

The casualty was lifted onto to a mountain rescue stretcher and then carried to the waiting ambulance for onward transport to hospital.
