Incident report

A Buxton team call-out to assist the ambulance service dealing with an 11 year old boy who had fallen from a rope swing sustaining upper arm injuries.

Three Shires Bridge is a remote beauty spot with no easy access and although an air-ambulance was known to be en-route, it was thought landing might be a problem.  The rescue team was grateful for the permission of a local farmer for use of his yard and to allow the team Land Rover to drive over his land with the response equipment.  However, just as the team was arriving at the casualty site, the youth was being loaded into the helicopter and the remainder of the team was able to be stood down.
