Incident report

Initially a call for Buxton Mountain Rescue Team which later asked for assistance from Edale MRT when insufficient numbers responded.

A 78 year old lady, part of a walking group visiting the area from The Wirral, slipped in the wet conditions suffering a suspected fracture to the ankle.  Her walking companions were unsure of their exact location giving rise to some delay in the arrival of the ambulance and the rescue team.

When eventually located, the injured lady was treated by East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedics whilst her companions were guided back to the road by team members.  With the arrival of equipment from Edale MRT the lady was swiftly evacuated to a waiting ambulance for onward transport to a Macclesfield hospital.
