Edale and Buxton MRTs’ Snatch Squad called to the Manchester Buttress area of the popular gritstone climbing crag to assist a 48 year old man.  The casualty had been leading a climb when he fell approximately 8 metres causing suspected injuries to his back and pelvis.

Fifteen rescue team members and local climbers carried the casualty by stretcher to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air-ambulance for transfer to a Sheffield hospital.

    Wasnt just rescue team members who passed the stretcher down the hill. Climbers, assemble!
