Incident report

An unusual call for us to Stanage Edge on a weekend which is normally the sole responsibility of Edale MRT, but as most of its members were covering other emergencies, Buxton MRT filled the gap.

Thirteen of us assembled at High Neb to assist ten Edale members dealing with a 25 year old male from Wembley, London, who had fallen from the 5C route, The Dalesman.  The man was part of a Kingston Climbing Club weekend trip to the Peak and had been leading the route when he fell about 3 metres and swung into the rock-face.

The casualty suffered a suspected fracture of the right ankle and was carried by team members from the crag to a waiting air-ambulance which took him to a Rotherham hospital for treatment.
