Incident report

A full team call out for a 58 year old lady from Two Dales, Matlock, who had been walking with her husband and two friends when she slipped on the steep wet grass.  An East Midlands Ambulance paramedic was the first to respond but it was quickly realised that the mountain rescue team would be needed to locate and evacuate the casualty in darkness.

Team members rendezvoused at Grin Low Sols 2caravan park where they were met by the casualty’s husband and the ambulance crew.   The lady, who had sustained suspected fractures to the tibia and fibula of the left leg, was treated by paramedics and team first aiders before being carried by rescue stretcher to the waiting ambulance.

A quote from a letter just received from the casualty, “I cannot thank you enough for the voluntary service you provide. None us know when we may need you, accidents do happen.”

Thanks to Mrs D***** for the kind letter and the generous donation. We wish you a speedy recovery and hope you have your boots back on in the Spring. T. R.
