Incident report

A lady on holiday from Nottingham was walking with a group of friends when she slipped on a very muddy section of the descending path.
One of the group members had noticed our sign at Roaches Gate (see photos) informing members of the public on how to call out Mountain Rescue and he then placed a call to the emergency services.
Team members were paged and text, whilst mobile one from Dove Base and mobile 3 from Staden Lane Fire Station were despatched.
On arrival at the RV, team members were tasked with carrying rescue equipment to the casualties location on the Upper Tier. When team members arrived on site, West Midlands ambulance paramedics were assessing the casualty and a box shelter was used to protect from the weather.
After an initial assessment, an injury to the lower right leg was identified. A box splint was used to stabilise the injury and the casualty was then placed in an insulated casualty bag and transferred onto the team’s stretcher, before being carried to the ambulance at Roaches Gate.
The Midlands air ambulance was on scene but was not required and departed before nightfall.
