Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called to Ramshaw Rocks near Leek. A 50 year old male from Ashbourne had sustained a knee injury whilst walking with a small group of friends. The accident caused a painful injury which was treated on site by team first-aiders before the casualty was carried by stretcher to the roadside to await an ambulance.

I was that 50 year old male – thanks for reminding me about my age!
I would just like to say a massive thank you for carrying me off the hill – particularly as I am 6’5″ and not that slim! It turns out I had dislocated my knee and in the process ruptured my Cruciate, torn the medial, damaged both cartilages and had a compression fracture of my fibula. That said I am having surgery this week to reconstruct the ACL and hopefully will be on the hills again before too long.
Thank you so much to Neil and Kerry (whose names I think I remember) and everyone else involved and really sorry I didn’t fall over earlier on Hens cloud as I sem to recall you could land helicopters there and that would have saved you the effort of lifting me down!
Fantastic job guys – well done and for ever grateful.
Paul
