Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called out around lunch-time to assist the East Midlands Ambulance Service with an injured walker.
The casualty, a 69 year old lady from Keithley, was walking with her husband in Chee Dale when she slipped on the muddy path and fractured her ankle. Heavy rain in the morning had made ground conditions very wet. She was treated on site by ambulance personnel, then carried on a stretcher by the rescue team to a waiting land ambulance.
The ambulance transported the woman to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, for further treatment.
