Incident report

Buxton MRT was called to rendezvous in Miller’s Dale following the report of an injured walker in Monks Dale.

A 63 year old lady from Long Eaton had been walking as part of a rambling group when she slipped in the very wet and windy conditions. The lady sustained a suspected fracture of the ankle and was treated by team first aiders before being carried for over a kilometre to Glebe Farm. From there she was transferred to a waiting ambulance for transport to a Chesterfield Hospital.

My folks and I would like to say a big thanks to you guys for coming to my mums rescue. She is still in hospital and has undergone an operation yesterday to pin and plate her ankle as she had broken it in two places. She is recovering well. Again a huge thanks you were very professional and prompt and very friendly. She felt in very good hands. Just what was needed. They don’t know what they would have done if you guys wasn’t available. Keep up the good work. Louise x

We can’t praise the Buxton MRT enough for their rapid response and the efficient way they treated our friend Jenny last Saturday. To see the team in action was a privilege. We have the greatest respect and admiration for these dedicated people, you are all brilliant. Thanks a lot, from Carol, Dave and the rest of our group.
