Incident report

In the very early hours of Sunday, Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was tasked to assist emergency services in recovering five males from a car which had left the Long Hill Road near Fernilee.

All the local emergency services were in attendance, including Fire, Police and Ambulance, however there were some difficulties recovering three casualties to the roadside due to the terrain. Together the Kinder Team, we assisted paramedics with our specialist equipment in recovering two injured casualties by stretcher to the waiting ambulance on Long Hill Road. They were transferred to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, for for further treatment.

Neil Carruthers, Buxton Team Leader said “All the emergency crews worked very well together to recover the vehicle occupants. This was a good inter-agency operation which was slick and successful”.
