Incident report

Buxton team called to assist a party of seven who had been descending into Lathkill Dale, when a 38 year old female, from Watnall, Nottinghamshire, slipped on the wet limestone and fell sustaining injuries to both her ankles.  Unfortunately she fell onto her 14 year old daughter who sustained a knee injury, both were immobile.  They were both treated on site by one of the team doctors and loaded onto both team stretchers.  As there were 2 casualties, Edale Team were also called to assist with the evacuations.  Both casualties were evacuated from the dale, across fields by stretcher, the first to a waiting air ambulance and the other to a land ambulance at the roadhead, both were taken to the Chesterfield Royal Hospital for further treatment.
