Incident report

Following a report from two walkers benighted on Kinder Scout, Buxton Mountain Rescue Team, Edale MRT and two SARDA dogs units were called to search the Southern Edge of Kinder Scout.

The Duty Incident Controller was able to speak by mobile phone to the lost walkers and it was established that the pair were probably on Upper Tor.   However it was a black, wet night with thick hill fog so, to play safe, the usual Kinder search plan was activated.

On this occasion the couple were where they were thought to be and the pair were quickly located by Edale Team members and escorted to the valley.
