Incident report

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called when the Kinder Scout Search Plan was activated following a call for assistance from two lost hill walkers.
Kinder M.R.T. had been deployed first but with the visibility on the Kinder plateau to less than fifteen metres the decision was taken to activate the plan which allows the plateau to be searched more quickly.  The plan includes teams from Glossop, Edale, Kinder and Buxton together with available search dogs.
Buxton team was about to deploy members up the southern cloughs when word came that the pair had been found. The missing walkers had been located by search dog Dolly from the Kinder team and following an on site medical assessment the two missing people were found to be ok although one had lost a boot.  They were guided off the hill by a Kinder team member.  Buxton and the other teams stood down.
