Incident report

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called-out following a report from a 49 year old lady fell runner from Leicester who telephoned the police after becoming lost on Kinder Scout in freezing conditions.

Team members contacted the lady however the details were very sparse and she had little charge left on her phone. Buxton Team rendezvoused at Edale and deployed further technology to ascertain her position which identified her likely location as the western side of Kinder Plateau.  Kinder Team were then called out to cover that area.

In the meantime, two fell runners found the lady near to Edale Rocks; she was cold but unhurt.  The fell runners escorted the lady down to Jacobs Ladder, meeting Buxton Team members on the way up.  Kinder team was stood down and the lady was transported to Edale Village to collect her car as no medical intervention was required.
