The team were already assembled at the event for Emergency Services Day in Buxton when a call-out for a joint Buxton/Edale snatch squad relating to a medical emergency
was received. The incident involved a fourteen year old boy on the Pennine Way at Jacob’s Ladder. The boy was part of a Duke of Edinburgh silver expedition from a school in Saffron Waldon, Essex.
Kinder MRT was already in the vicinity having just completed a training exercise when the alarm was raised and was able to divert several members to the scene. The Yorkshire Air-ambulance was already on scene as Buxton team arrived at Upper Booth and so members stood-by until it was confirmed that the casualty evacuation had been completed by the aircraft.
The team returned to Pavilion Gardens, Buxton to continue rattling collection tins at 14.25 hours.
