Incident report

Buxton Edale snatch squad called to locate and evacuate a 48 year old female from Notts, after a call had been made via South Yorkshire Police to indicate that the casualty had collapsed with exhaustion and was unable to continue. Whilst the teams were on route, the duty incident controller made a number of attempts to contact the casualty party but was not able to. After a short search of possible evacuation routes, the party was located and it appeared that one of the group, all medical professionals, may have rung in a little prematurely, although the casualty in her own words, had gone far higher and further than she had anticipated and with the outset of a storm “wondered if she was going to get off the mountain”.
