Incident report

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team called to assist Edale M.R.T. responding to a report of a collapsed walker in Hollin Clough on the east side of the Derwent Valley.
The 69 year old man from Lytham St Anns had started to feel unwell whilst walking up the valley with his family and finally became unable to continue.  A family member returned to Fairholmes Information Centre to raise the alarm and East Midlands Ambulance Service in turn requested assistance from mountain rescue.
Edale M.R.T. members were first to arrive to assist the ambulance crew already on scene.  Buxton members arrived soon after and, following treatment, the casualty was placed on a stretcher to be carried down to the ambulance waiting in the valley bottom.

We cannot thank you enough for the help and support you gave us re the report above.
Steve was assessed thoroughly by the paramedics in the ambulance and discharged to see his GP on Monday. We are currently staying in the area for the weekend, and taking thing easy so hopefully won’t be requiring your assistance again!
Again a massive thank you to all concerned, you’re a great team! Truly dedicated, professional and skilled, we couldn’t have been in safer hands. We are forever in your debt.
    Regards, from Steve’s family x
