Incident report

The Joint Snatch Squad of Edale and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams was called following the report of two men in difficulties on Kinder Scout.  The men were on a circular walk from Hayfield when one developed an ankle problem.

Original information was sketchy and Kinder Team had been alerted first but when the location of the pair was fixed by their mobile phone signal as Grindsbrook, the two local teams took over.

The weather at the time was cold and wet with low cloud and light wind so the onset of hypothermia was a real possibility.  Rescue team members soon climbed to their location and helped to rewarm the men in a box tent.  Following examination they were helped to walk down hill into Edale village and were then provided with transport back to their car in Hayfield.
