Incident report

With several incidents being reported simultaneously in the north of the Peak, part of Edale M.R.T. went to the fullwide 1assistance of  Woodhead M.R.T. in Grenoside Woods, north of Sheffield.  So when another incident was reported on Edale M.R.T.’s patch it was Buxton’s turn to help the neighbours.

A mountain biker had taken a tumble above Fulwood Stile Farm in the Edale valley sustaining spine and pelvic injuries.

Edale members were quickly on site from their base at Hope and initial treatment was begun.   Fortunately, a Coast Guard S92 helicopter was training nearby and was quickly summoned to help.  Following a short carry to the aircraft the casualty was airlifted to a Sheffield hospital.

Using the aircraft saved a lot of time and man-power so the majority of Buxton members were stood down whilst still on route to the incident.
