Incident report

Edale and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams’ Snatch Squad was called at 15.08 to Froggatt Edge, a popular gritstone climbing outcrop to the East of the National Park.  A 20 year old male from Leeds had been leading a route known as Chequer’s Crack (HVS 5b) when the accident happened and he fell an estimated seven metres to the ground.  The casualty was treated on site by ambulance paramedics for a severe leg injury and possible back injuries before being carried by stretcher to the roadhead and a waiting East Midlands Ambulance.
