Incident report

Buxton and Edale Muntain Rescue Teams were called to Froggatt Edge, near Calver, on Tuesday morning.

An 18 year old male climber was attempting to solo a route in the “Downhill Racer” area when he fell about 10 metres. Fortunately he was wearing a helmet. He was however treated on site for possible head, back, leg and arm injuries.

The young man was then evacuated by stretcher to the top of the crag by rescue team personnel, placed into the waiting Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance and flown to the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham for further treatment.
