Incident report

At 2.00 p.m. on Friday 30th June Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was called by Derbyshire police following the report of an injured walker on a public footpath at Dam Cliff near to Limestone Farm at Peak Forest.
The mature lady was one of an organised of group of walkers which was nearly at the end of its day’s walk when the accident occurred.  She slipped whilst negotiating a stile and suffered a knee injury.  The first team members arriving were able to take a vehicle virtually to the incident site where the injury was assessed.  The lady was then placed in a team vehicle for the short journey to the road-head where the group member’s cars were parked.  The casualty was advised to seek further medical assistance from a local hospital.

The lady in question was taken to hospital where an x ray has revealed a fractured tibia below the knee. She is awaiting an operation over the weekend.
