Incident report

An hour after the conclusion of a previous call-out, Buxton Mountain Rescue were called upon at a very early hour, to assist the ambulance service to collect a seriously injured person in a rural location.

The casualty was reported as having fallen from a first floor window onto a hard surface surrounded by steep terrain. He sustained significant back and head injuries. The EMAS crew attended him on site, but required extra help to transfer him to the waiting ambulance. The casualty was manoueved onto a backboard and team stretcher for a carry around the building and down a steep grassy slope.

He was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, for further treatment.
