Incident report

A small group of team members were called to a house in Chapel en le Frith where an elderly lady had fallen and sustained a serious head injury.  Owing to the severe pressure that the ambulance service are currently experiencing due to the severe weather no ambulance was available and mountain rescue was called.

The team had a vehicle with a crew of three trained advanced first aiders on scene within 15 minutes but Kinder MRT were even quicker off the mark arriving just minutes before Buxton.

The lady was assessed by team medics and a speedy transfer to a Stockport hospital was ordered.  The elderly patient was  gently placed in a warm casualty bag and carried by stretcher to the Kinder Team ambulance for transport to hospital.

A small number of team members remained on standby throughout the remainder of the day.
