Incident report

Buxton Edale Snatch Squad called to evacuate a 47 year old male from Alvaston who had collapsed near Druids Stone on Rowland Cote Moor.  The casualty who was one of a party of four was located collapsed with exhaustion and potentially hypothermic.  The party had been undertaking a walk around the edge of Kinder in cold wet conditions. He was treated on site by team members and evacuated by stretcher for approx one kilometre to Edale Youth Hostel, where he was provided with food and drink. His condition improved and following some advice the casualty and remaining members of the party made their own way home.

We  would like to thank the staff at Edale Youth Hostel who provided food and drink to the casualty and also to rescue team members, this was very welcome after a long wet rescue operation.
