Incident report

A call-out for Buxton Mountain Rescue Team following the report of an incident in Crowden Brook.

An adult male from the Leicester area had fallen whilst descending Crowden Brook leaving him with a suspected fracture to his finger.  The shock of this had caused the man to feel unwell and initially did not feel able to walk down unaided.   A party member descended the hill to call for help from the phone box at Upper Booth.

Buxton MRT was summoned by the police and a small party of team members was dispatched to assist the man. However, he had started to feel better and commenced walking back at the road.  Team members met the man and gave him a lift back to Tipps Car Park.  At this time the team received a second and possibly more serious call to incident at Windgather Rocks.  The injured person was advised to make his own way to hospital in order to get an X-ray.
